Hey guys it is Pete…
Been kind of an interesting week… Cyber Monday was awesome in regards to how many people wanted to buy and renew memberships… the downside is we had some hiccups and apologize for any inconvenience that it caused you. At the same time I wanted to share with you something that also happened this week that puts things in perspective.
Monday night my younger brother was shot by a home invader and was almost killed. Miraculously he survived and was taken to the hospital… while there they ran some tests on him that he had been putting off due to fear… turns out he also has testicular cancer, and if he hadn’t been shot… might have not gone for treatment until it was too late. After a couple of surgeries my brother is recuperating and will have to go through chemo and lots of time dealing with the cancer. For those of you who didn’t know, I had the same cancer 7 years ago… and so I was able to talk to my brother and share with him what to expect and help to calm some of his fears before the surgery. Now, David is my half-brother and about 18 years younger than me… and because of where we live and being at different stages of life, we aren’t really close… and dang, I almost lost him.
It was a wake up call for me to not be so busy about being busy.
Sure, photography and photoshop are important in my life, and so are a lot of other things that you and I are doing… but at the end of the day are we busy cultivating and repairing our relationships out there as much as we are working on a new techniques or style?
That is the question I am asking myself.
